Unova-capped Pikachu is now available for Pokemon Sun and Moon players to download

Gen V fans, you're up.

It's that time again, Pokemon players. If you held off downloading the previous three Pikachu, you've got a chance to download an all-new one donning the cap of Ash Ketchum from his adventures in the Unova region. This giveaway, like the previous three, is timed, and you don't have long to take advantage of it as it expires on October 16th.

Pikachu's hat isn't the only thing that makes it unique. Its moves that it features are inspired by the attacks used during the Unova series in the anime. Pikachu also comes inside a Poke Ball, which is a reference to the Pokemon's unwillingness to get inside one during the anime.

Here's a breakdown of the moveset that Pikachu uses:

Level: 13

Nature: Hardy

Gender: Male

Ability: Static

Moves:

  • Thunderbolt

  • Quick Attack

  • Iron Tail

  • Volt Tackle

In order to download Pikachu, do the following:

  • Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.

  • Select Receive Gift.

  • Select Get with Code/Password, then Yes, then Yes again to connect to the internet.

  • Enter the code PIKACHU20.

  • Watch the animation, as you receive Pikachu.

  • Head into the game and speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center.

  • Be sure to save, or you will lose Pikachu forever if you turn off the game.

After this, only two giveaways are remaining. Remember, you can just use the code once, so choose wisely. Here are the last two:

  • October 17th - 23rd - Kalos hat (X/Y)

  • October 24th - 30th - Alola hat (Sun/Moon)

Pokemon Sun and Moon is available now for Nintendo 3DS with its follow-ups Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon due to come out on November 17th, 2017.
